Y4 Talent Quest 2016

On Tuesday the Y4 Syndicate had their talent quest finals. Here are the highlights put together by Amatan, Siddhu and Salah. Congratulations to Seam and Bileeana who came first equal!

On Saturday the MRPS Ukulele Group performed at Vector Arena. It was a fantastic day and the group performed like professionals. A huge THANK YOU to Mrs Dawson for all of your hard work and dedication. What an awesome ukulele teacher you are!

Money Raps

We have been using our knowledge about financial literacy to write raps. We created our own soundtracks to go with our raps using soundation.

Describing SpongeBob Squarepants

This week we have been writing descriptions about SpongeBob Squarepants. Yesterday we used these descriptions to create shape poems.

Illustrating Adjectives

Our poem of the week was The Googies by Shel Silverstein. 

We used this poem to identify adjectives. Then we had a go at creating fonts for each word that show their meaning. Here are some of the results.

No Running in the Corridors!

We have a problem in our corridor! People run all the time and their have been a lot of accidents. We decided to write stories to persuade people not to run in the corridor! Here are the results.

Snedhal, Maka, Ben and Wolfgang decided to make a movie to show the consequences of running in the corridor.



Wolfgang and Taufeeq created posters to be displayed in the corridor.

Sensational Science

It is sensational science week at Mt Roskill Primary School. We have been exploring solids, liquids and gases. Yesterday we did an experiment.

Our lack of posts this week is due to our preparation for this week's assembly! However we did some creative writing today based on the book by Oliver Jeffers - Once Upon An Alphabet.

We have been busy inquiring into natural disasters. We are learning how to demonstrate our learning in different ways. These groups decided to use Google Slides.

One of the digital tools that we have been learning to use is iMovie. We combined this learning with our natural disasters studies to create movies about storms.

Our first interclass gutter board match!

Yesterday, we had our very first interclass gutter board match against R7. It was awesome. Snedhal and Eugenia recorded some of the action and have made a video of highlights. Watch the video to find out who won.
