Today we had the final whole school assembly for 2016.

Y4 Talent Quest 2016

On Tuesday the Y4 Syndicate had their talent quest finals. Here are the highlights put together by Amatan, Siddhu and Salah. Congratulations to Seam and Bileeana who came first equal!

On Saturday the MRPS Ukulele Group performed at Vector Arena. It was a fantastic day and the group performed like professionals. A huge THANK YOU to Mrs Dawson for all of your hard work and dedication. What an awesome ukulele teacher you are! 

OMG Tech Rangers!

A group of Year 4 learners attended the @OMGTechRangers event on Saturday the 26th of November. They had an amazing day learning about the possibilities of science and technology. Check out what they got up to:

Music with Mrs Dawson

We are so lucky to have a specialist music teacher at MRPS named Mrs Dawson. She takes us for music lessons a couple of times a year. She has taught us so much about reading music. Check out what we did with her today!

Chocolate Crackle

On Tuesday we made chocolate crackles as part of our learning about procedural writing.

Maka has used Prezi to share his recipe.

Dev and Samuel used the recipe mixed with images they took on Tuesday to share their recipe:

Procedures Using Screencastify

We have been writing procedures outlining how to complete a chosen task on a chromebook. We used screencastify to record our procedures. 

Tuakana Kapahaka Assembly

On Friday the Tuakana Kapahaka Group entertained us with an assembly item all about Ranginui and Papatuanuku. Check out the highlights.

3D Printing

The Y4 Makerspace Group have been working extremely hard to get the 3D printers up and running for people to use.

Siddhu, Amatan and Salah couldn't wait to get started. They created a minion using Tinkercad and today they printed it!

The Y4 Uke Group Won K Factor 2016!

They did it! The MRPS Y4 Ukulele Group won Kmart's K Factor competition.

Paper Sculptures

Room 5 had an awesome day with Mrs Bateman creating paper sculptures! 

Y3/4 Athletics Day

On Wednesday R5 competed in the Y3/4 Athletics Day. They did really well. Here is a video with a few highlights.

Electrical Circuits

As part of our Electricity unit we are learning all about simple electrical circuits. We have been creating simple circuits with wires, batteries, lightbulbs and switches and discovering how electrons flow. 

 

Aniva and Taufeeq created diagrams to explain what they had learnt. 

Y4 Ukulele Band

Dog Safety

Last week MRPS had a special assembly all about dog safety and we learnt lots of helpful tips! 

Bike Giveaway

At the beginning of this term, we were told that Miss Bishop had 20 free bikes to giveaway! She asked everyone from Y2-5 to write a letter explaining why they wanted, needed, deserved a new bike! 

Looking On

We have been writing poems based on a poem called The Looker-On, by Frank Kendon. Using the same structure, we wrote our own poems based on our surroundings at MRPS. We spent some time just sitting and watching the things that were happening around us.

Money Raps

We have been using our knowledge about financial literacy to write raps. We created our own soundtracks to go with our raps using soundation.
